North Vancouver District Public Library is a community-focused Library serving almost 90,000 residents in the District of North Vancouver at three NVDPL locations. Job Description:

NVDPL is currently recruiting an exempt Manager, Innovation & Learning to provide leadership for the library’s digital services and web presence, to further innovative programs and services, and to lead the library’s technology infrastructure. You will foster broad and deep collaborations between library staff and community members and help to further integrate digital services with all public services. The Manager, Innovation & Learning will build upon existing partnerships between NVDPL and our community and funding partners to further innovation and learning in the community.


Exciting aspects of the role will include: leading the digital services and systems teams; implementing a new digital creation studio service; providing leadership for the library’s technology infrastructure, in collaboration with the District of North Vancouver’s IT service provider; leading the library’s website and integration of digital resources to shape a seamless digital experience; furthering innovative programs and learning using technology; supporting staff in sharing knowledge and learning; and providing leadership and support for digital approaches and technology integration to traditional library services. 

Working with the Library Director and a highly networked leadership team, you will represent the Library on committees and organizations, and actively participate in the greater professional community.


Your qualifications include a Master of Library Science/Master of Library and Information Science degree or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program, along with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Your demonstrated professionalism; strategic understanding and knowledge of trends in library technologies, and your commitment to the creative process and forward thinking in public service, will help ensure your success in this position.
