SoM provides top quality music education at no cost for at risk and underserved children and youth. As advocates helping children and youth transcend barriers they may be facing, our program uses music as a tool of inspiration for students to connect with themselves and one another in a safe and nurturing environment.
SoM is looking for a Musical Mentor to join our existing team in Surrey. Potential candidates should demonstrate experienced musicianship, teaching practice, youth empathy and a willingness to explore new educational approaches to sharing music.
Experience in leading larger vocal activities, and engaging children using games that apply musical knowledge in a fun way is an asset.
A post-secondary degree (or equivalent) in music or related discipline and experience with educational curriculum is preferred. Flexibility and adaptability will be vital for each of these positions.
