Marketing Assistant - Festivals

$30.39 to $35.77 per hour 

The City of Richmond is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a passion for festivals and marketing. The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for administrating and implementing various tasks assisting the Major Events & Film department focused on the upcoming festivals. This position will play a key role executing a comprehensive marketing and promotion plan for the following City of Richmond festivals:


Richmond Canada Day in Steveston (July 1)
Canada Day in Steveston is a major street festival in the heart of the village featuring programming on multiple stages and locations. The event includes a headline concert from a well-known Canadian artist, activations by exhibitors and artisans, a flag raising ceremony, food trucks and a spectacular fireworks finale. 

Richmond Maritime Festival (July 28-29)
The Richmond Maritime Festival celebrates the cultural and maritime history of Steveston’s historic waterfront. This two day festival takes place at the Britannia Heritage Shipyards National Historic Site and has programming on both water and land. The festival site is animated by roving performers, wooden boat displays, live music and boat boarding opportunities.

Richmond World Festival (Aug 31 – Sept 1)
The Richmond World Festival is a major summer event which features over 75 artists on nine stages and pop up zones. The festival also features artisans, vendors and 50 food trucks in the FEASTival of Flavours. Each evening of the event is concluded with a free headliner concert act with international recognition.


The ideal candidate will be a marketing superstar and social media guru. The candidate will have exceptional writing skills and attention to detail along with exceptional customer services skills and experience working in a community setting.
