Job Description: 

We are hiring a Producer. The Producer will lead the delivery of our artistic program, administer the creation of new works, plan and assess future projects, and manage touring. The successful candidate is a great project manager with at least three years of theatrical producing experience.

Responsibilities: 

Planning and Logistics: Ensures that operational support is in place for productions, auditions and workshops; secures rehearsal and performance spaces; plans tours. Works closely with the Production Manager to determine and meet the necessary supports and special needs of each production.

Budgeting: Works closely with the Managing Director and Artistic Director to develop production budgets; monitors monthly financial updates to the production budgets; oversees production payrolls and payables and maintains a payment schedule.

Contract Management: Negotiates and issues contracts for artists, designers and production personnel; liaises with artistic, technical, production, and other team members for full delivery of projects; fosters and maintains a positive working relationship with Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT), Canadian Actor’s Equity Association (CAEA), Associated Designers of Canada (ADC) and Playwrights Guild Canada (PGC); ensures the standards of the above associations are met and adhered to by Urban Ink.

Qualifications: 

Our ideal candidate is calm, organized, efficient and fun to work with. Has a producing track record of at least three years, great people management and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects on time and on budget.

Remuneration: 

This is a full-time employment position beginning September 2019. The annual salary is $45,000 and includes extended health and dental benefits.
