Founded in 1999, Centre A is Canada’s only public gallery devoted to contemporary Asian and Asian diasporic art. Our mission is to build an inclusive community for contemporary Asian art and foster a greater understanding of evolving cultural experiences and identities. We are committed to creating mentorship opportunities for emerging artists and cultural workers, while facilitating collaborations across local, national, and international contexts.

Volunteer Opportunity Description: 

Event Assistants will provide support for special events and public programming. Events may vary. Duties may include set up or tear down, greet attendees, provide basic event information, work a registration table, manning the bar, and answering general enquiries. 

Volunteer opportunities will be available in conjunction with special events and public programming. Time commitment varies by event.


-Greeting and directing event attendees
-Overseeing registration and/or coat check 
-Serving refreshments and alcoholic beverages*
-Setting up and tearing down for special events
-Tracking visitor and visiting member statistics


-Experience working and communicating with the public
-Friendly and approachable demeanor
-Available evenings and weekends
-Prior event experience is an asset
*Bartenders must be 19+ with a valid Serving It Right certificate
