Artist Salon with Adad Hannah
The Richmond Art Gallery hosts its last free Artist Salon networking session of 2018, this time featuring photographer Adad Hannah, who recreates paintings via heavily stylized photos. Hannah will not only be introducing his upcoming exhibition, The Decameron Retold (opening at Richmond Art Gallery on February 9, 2019), but also inviting community members to work with him and become part of the project.

MOA’s Shake Up: Preserving What We Value
Are you, like everyone else in our fair province, forever looking over your shoulder for “the big one”? The looming spectre of the quake is a fact of life in BC, so after you’re done stocking up your earthquake kit with potable water, check out this MOA exhibit. Shake Up explores the convergence of earthquake science and technology with the rich Indigenous knowledge and oral history of the living cultures of MOA’s Northwest Coast collection.

Rock ‘n’ Soul Christmas
If you’d rather be rollin’ down a river this holiday season, the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre has you covered. The Legends of Rock n’ Roll presents tributes to James Brown, Fats Domino, Little Richard and Tina Turner. This trip down memory lane will leave you feelin’ good, just like the Godfather of Soul.

Holiday Choral and Orchestral Performances
With December comes a blizzard of musical performances, so you’ve got your pick: Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir presents its holiday concert, Good Tidings! A Good Noise Gospel Christmas, on Dec. 14-15; Christmas with Chor Leoni goes down Dec. 14, 15 and 17 (with a pit stop in West Vancouver on Dec. 16); the Vancouver Chamber Choir (Dec. 7, Vancouver), Vancouver Bach Choir (Dec. 8, Surrey) and Victoria Symphony (Dec. 14 & 16, Victoria) each present their take on Handel’s Messiah.
