Every week, the BC Alliance gives you a glimpse at several must-see member events. Here’s a look at what’s coming up in the near future:

Pi Theatre’s latest musical offering tracks creator Tanya Marquardt’s life from small-town Port Alberni to 16-year-old runaway and BDSM model to New York transplant, and her salvation in art and writing. Come see what critic Adrienne Urbanski called “a work of dazzling ingenuity and raw self-expression.”

Festival d'été francophone de Vancouver
A week of lively concerts marks one of the most important francophone rendez-vous west of Ottawa. This week, catch acts including Early Spirit, Arnaud Granoux, Marc Hervieux and Alpha Yaya Diallo.

5X Festival
The 5X Festival showcases the best in South Asian millennial music, art, film and fashion. Events include an art party, movie night, Bhangra competition, and a blow-out block party. Check the website for more details on this boisterous bash produced by the Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration Society.
(Surrey and Vancouver: June 12-16)

Neither One Nor the Other / Ni l'un ni l'autre
Presented in partnership with the National Film Board, this exhibition is a collaborative multimedia installation by Anishnabek artist Dominic Lafontaine and Michif artist Jessie Short that seeks to find the paranormal in the everyday and render the invisible visible. Drop by Open Space for the opening reception on June 14 or catch the artist talk June 15.

Curatorial Tour with Kimberly Phillips
Join Contemporary Art Gallery curator Kimberly Phillips at 6:00 p.m. for a free tour of the CAG’s current exhibitions: Deanna Bowen’s A Harlem Nocturne (which wraps up June 16) and Rolande Souliere’s Frequent Stopping IV and V.
