Vancouver Folk Music Festival
Get ready to folk around at the famous Vancouver Folk Music Festival, which takes over Jericho Beach starting July 19. This year’s line-up includes Corb Lund, Sam Roberts Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Basia Bulat, The Hamiltones and more.

The Windsinger
Magic! Betrayal! Revenge! Gather the family, pack a picnic and come to Town Centre Park for a whimsical outdoor performance of The Windsinger, a family-friendly adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, presented by Place des Arts’ Summer Teen Theatre Troupe.

Big Sugar Live in Nanaimo
The iconic Canadian blues-rock band Big Sugar plays the hits from their brand new album, Eternity Now. You’ll be playing air guitar in the aisles at the Port Theatre.

Born to Represent
Artist Teresa Pocock uses her art and poetry to express her unique worldview and to assert her rights to inclusion. She challenges the systemic discrimination faced by people who are different — especially those who have intellectual disabilities. Check out her art at 312 Main, starting with an opening reception July 22.

Poets Corner July Reading
Poets Corner imports three poets for your entertainment, as Kerry Gilbert flies in from Vernon, “mistress of the line break” Clea Roberts joins from Whitehorse, and Renée Saklikar, Surrey’s Poet Laureate Emeritus, rounds out the night.
