If the Vancouver Art Gallery looks a little different, no need to get your eyes checked: Burrard Arts Foundation’s annual Façade Festival starts September 8. The public art installation sees ten stunning, site-specific works of art projects over the VAG’s iconic exterior.

Cultivate Music, Theatre, and Art Festival
Arts Gabriola’s family-friendly celebration of music, theatre, art, and the community takes over the Commons. Six theatre performances, more than two dozen musical guests, workshops, an artwalk, and more headline the end-of-summer bash. Camping and shuttle available.

The Belkin’s new exhibition focuses on nothing less than our oceans, their health, and the political ramifications thereof. Curated by Lorna Brown and featuring work by Carolina Caycedo, Nelly César, Guadalupe Martinez, Teresa Montoya, Anne Riley, Genevieve Robertson, Susan Schuppli and T'uy't'tanat Cease Wyss. Throughout the project, Spill: Radio, curated by Tatiana Mellema, presents radio episodes in collaboration with CiTR 101.9 FM.

Poetry in the Park
The last Poetry in the Park of the summer features poets Carlie Blume and Robert Martens dropping words in the great outdoors. Join the Royal City Literary Arts Society in the Queen’s Park band shell in the heart of New West.

Habitats + Night Shadows
MOA comes alive at night for a two-part evening of physical comedy, dance, circus and puppetry in the interdisciplinary performance Habitats, followed by Night Shadows—a large-scale installation where audience members immerse themselves in stunning metal structures, intricate paper cuts and light projections.
