Anti-disciplinary artist Ghinwa Yassine will present a part-informative, part-experiential workshop for trauma-informed and nervous-system-based practices. This workshop is for the general public, and will be especially useful for anyone who leads classes, workshops, events, etc in the arts and culture sector.

No previous experience of any sort is required and the workshop is open to all body abilities, ages, genders, ethnicities, and orientations of any kind.

The workshop will include movement exercises, writing prompts, body-listening, learning and discussion.

Ghinwa will be sharing listening and communication techniques to equip participants with tools that are supportive for their practices and instrumental in decolonizing how we prepare and lead gatherings.

About the facilitator

Ghinwa Yassine is trained in nervous-system-based movement and is the founder and co-director of MENA Film festival in Vancouver. She has previously led trauma-informed mediation and conflict resolution processes. We are grateful and excited to learn from her knowledge on the subject.
