DOXA Documentary Film Festival has announced that Selina Crammond will step into the role of director of programming. She takes over the duties from Dorothy Woodend, who will stay on as senior programming advisor. Atenas Contreras also joins the organization as the new business and finance manager.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Dorothy Woodend for her many years of service and dedication to DOXA,” says Andrea Gin, board chair of The Documentary Media Society. “During her tenure, our festival has grown by leaps and bounds, and her vision for the organization has earned us a place of distinction among film festivals around the world. Her creative energy, unique point of view, and eloquent voice for the arts can’t be replaced but we wish her the best and look forward to seeing her next steps. Under Dorothy’s leadership, we have spent several months working with staff on the restructuring of the organization. We are pleased to announce that Selina Crammond will move into the role of director of programming. Selina has been part of the core team at DOXA for many years and worked on projects like Rated Y for Youth and the Justice Forum, cementing both programs as critical parts of the festival. We are also happy to welcome Atenas Contreras to the team as the new business and finance manager. We are excited about the plans for the 2018 festival and are more than confident that the future of DOXA is in good hands.”

DOXA Documentary Film Festival runs May 3–13, 2018.
