Important Information on Our Reaction to COVID-19

Dear friends, members, and followers of the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture,

Pursuant to recommendations from government officials and public health experts, we will be closing our office to the public and working from home until further notice. We will be reachable via email; you can find our email addresses on our website. We will continue to update our website and social media with the latest information as it emerges.

We will be honouring boardroom bookings until Friday, March 20. After Friday, the boardroom will be closed until further notice, and all existing bookings will be cancelled and refunded. Please contact Joyce Wan at joyce@allianceforarts.com with any questions.

Our upcoming workshops will continue as scheduled, but will be conducted as webinars. Again, please Joyce Wan at joyce@allianceforarts.com for more information.

It is important that we as a sector document how this ongoing public health situation impacts our community. The GVPTA has created a COVID-19 Impact Survey where you can give a detailed breakdown on how you have been impacted, financially and otherwise. This information will be shared with funders, and will be important in advocating to government officials about the needs of the arts and culture community as the outcomes of this pandemic are felt.

We continue to update our list of COVID-19 resources for artists/arts and culture workers, which you can find here. If you have a resource to add, please send it to Taylor Basso at taylor@allianceforarts.com.

We would like to reassure you that we are in close contact with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture. We will continue to provide relevant and timely updates as we receive them.

In uncertain times, our strength is in our unity as a community. Let's work together as we navigate the present and look toward a bright future.

Sincerely,

Brenda Leadlay
