Province Introduces New Vaccine Card Mandate

Beginning September 7, British Columbians can apply for the B.C. vaccine card by visiting http://gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard and entering their personal health number, date of birth and date of either their first or second COVID-19 vaccine dose. This will enable them to download a QR code to their phones, which will be depicted in blue or green, to denote whether they have been vaccinated once or twice (as depicted below).

Users will also be able to print off paper copies from the website, or call 1-833-838-2323 to get a paper copy mailed to them.

Among the places proof of vaccination will be required:

  • indoor concerts and theatre, dance, and symphony events;

  • licensed restaurants, and those offering table service (indoor and outdoor dining);

  • pubs, bars and lounges (indoor and outdoor dining);

  • night clubs, casinos, movie theatres;

  • fitness centres/gyms/adult sports (indoor);

  • indoor group-exercise activities;

  • organized indoor events with 50 or more people (such as wedding receptions, organized parties, conferences, workshops);

  • discretionary organized indoor group recreational classes and activities.
