Open Call for the Museum of Vancouver exhibit Reclaim + Repair

Local designers and makers are invited to submit design concepts for the upcoming Reclaim + Repair: the Mahogany Project exhibition at the Museum of Vancouver.

The exhibition, put on by the Museum of Vancouver and in collaboration with Propellor Studio, will be an opportunity to celebrate the work of local designers, deepen connections between members of the design community and institutions like the MOV, and amplify conversations around sustainability which are increasingly integral to the practice of design.

Chosen designers will be supplied with an appropriate amount of mahogany to make their proposed piece and exhibited at the Museum of Vancouver for 11 months as part of the this feature exhibition.

Sales of work created for the show will contribute to indigenous-led reforestation efforts in Guatemala and Nicaragua.

All designers selected for the exhibition will be given a design fee of 30% of the value of the piece(s) that they are making (regardless of whether the piece sells or not). Design fees will be capped at 30% of a maximum $12,000 value.

Submission Deadline: Thursday, December 1, 2022
