Volunteerism in the Arts Award Goes to Maya Preshyon, Founder Of Vancouver Black Library

We are very happy to announce the 2022 return of BC Culture Days, which debuted in Vernon, on the traditional territory of the Syilx people of the Okanagan Nation.

At the opening ceremonies, we were extremely happy to administer the Volunteerism in the Arts Award to the winner, Maya Preshyon. Maya is the founder of Vancouver Black Library—a wonderful initiative which offers the Black and BIPOC community of Vancouver a place of refuge, solidarity and resources.

We encourage you to check out the Vancouver Black Library at 268 Keefer street, Friday-Sunday, from 11am to 5pm. And of course, follow and support Maya at @vanblacklibrary—they are still accepting monetary donations to sustain their programming goals.
