BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres Seeks Workshop Applications

The BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) will mount its 18th annual Gathering Our Voices: Indigenous Youth Leadership Training event in Kamloops from March 16-19, 2020. The BCAAFC seeks applications to present workshops at the event.

The event will bring together over 1,000 Indigenous youth delegates, as well as Elders, chaperones, keynote speakers, and other guests. Each year, attendees can participate in a variety of workshops meant to educate and inspire them.

Workshops are focused on strengthening Indigenous youth’s cultural connections, leadership skills, personal wellness, and career and education planning, amongst many other things.

Preference is given to workshops offered by Indigenous persons and agencies, social enterprises and non-profits, as well as workshops demonstration high-levels of interaction and opportunities for youth to voice their perspectives.

Apply here if you are interested in facilitating a workshop at the Gathering Our Voices 2020 event. The BCAAFC is particularly interested in a workshop about grant writing and how to create an effective grant, but also welcomes any other suggestions you feel would be of benefit to the delegates.

All workshop applications will be presented to the GOV Steering Committee, who will guide the workshop selection process.

The deadline to apply is November 1st, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. PST.  If you have any questions about the form, please contact govworkshops@bcaafc.com.
