Invitation to Artists to participate in a survey about the Concentration of Artists in Urban Centres

The City of Vancouver/Cultural Services is collaborating with municipal funders in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal in an effort to understand better the factors that impact where artists live and work. This project supports research led by the Canada Council for the Arts to learn more about where artists live in and around Canada’s four largest cities compared to the place of residence of all Canadian artists and the population as a whole.

Artists are invited to participate in a short survey to identify trends for further exploration. At the end of the survey, you can also opt-in to be considered to participate in small discussion groups. The survey is open to professional artists from any discipline who:

• currently have, or have previously had within the last three years, a creative practice

• live, or have lived within the last three years, in Vancouver
