Celebrate The Life of Renee Paris

There will be a celebration of the life of Renee Louise Paris, pillar of Vancouver’s arts community for decades, on Sunday, June 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Performance Works.

Renee’s courage, compassion and generosity are legendary. Her fierce will and intelligence informed, challend and blessed those she touched. She had a way of cutting through to the core of every issue, moment and person. We admired her style, her icono clastic ways, her poise and her unswerving sense of self in times good and bad.

From the late 1960s Renee was the steady centre around which swirled a creative and rich brew of young Vancouver artists, musicians, playwrights, actors … and draft dodgers. She was deeply involved in the beginning of the Vancouver East Cultural Centre and her other roles in the arts community included literary agent, theatre tour manager and manager of international performance events at Expo ’86.
