Job Description:

We are searching for a Digital Marketing Coordinator who will help us promote our festival, showcase our artists, and engage with the local Vancouver community. This role will report to the Executive Director of Programming, and work closely with the Executive Managing Director and an external Marketing Consultant.

Work Hours:

Part-time role at 30 hours per week from April-July with strong potential for full-time work from May-July, pending Canada Summer Jobs funding.
Generally working Mon-Fri office hours. Hours will sometimes include evenings and weekends, particularly during the July festival season.

Canada Summer Jobs Requirements:
To be eligible, you must:

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

WORK SETTING

ISF Office, Home, Performance venues
In-person work will be required following the strictest health and safety measures

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a promotional and community-building content plan and calendar
Write creative, engaging, and informative content and/or create smartphone videos that align with our brand voice and personas
Share organizational key messages through our main marketing channels: social media, email, website, and blog
Coordinate and collaborate with external team members including our freelance designer, website developer, paid ads agency, PR consultant, videographers, and media sponsors
Ensure proper weekly tracking of activities across all marketing channels and deliver a succinct marketing report each month
Maintain accessibility best practices, including alt text and image descriptions when appropriate

Day-to-Day:

Maintain regular posting schedule, monitoring, community management, and engagement on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn
Use Keela CRM to send year-round newsletters and personalized emails to existing contacts
Update website as needed including maintenance with developer support, and updates such as optimizing forms, checkout experiences, and landing pages
Write and post festival-related blogs

Special Events and Festival Communications:

Ensure delivery of assets: printed program, signage, projections, promos, and playlists.
Setup and support on-site communications for the festival, as needed
Coordinate on-site event photographers and videographers and delivery of assets
Capture fun and engaging smartphone videos at events
Prepare, deliver, and support all audience surveys for events
Organize digital assets, such as photo and video libraries, for easy access

Marketing Campaigns:
Develop, launch, and track campaigns with the aim of: Promoting the annual Indian Summer Festival
Amplifying opportunities for donor engagement in line with fundraising goals
Engaging personas with targeted campaigns to grow audiences
Building and growing new influencer relationships

Qualifications:

Sociable and able to network and build relationships with others
Excited to grow your skills across multiple marketing channels through hands-on projects
Proactive, with strong project management to ensure timely completion of projects
Able to use data to showcase the impact of your work as a marketer
Caught up on the digital marketing trends and have even dabbled in AI

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:

Post-secondary education and experience in marketing, communications, and digital/social media (or equivalent work experience)
Some schedule flexibility, especially during the festival season
A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion practices at every level
A current vaccination for COVID-19 and proof of vaccination

A strong copywriter who can create compelling content, whether images, videos, or written posts, with a passion for social sharing is an absolute must to succeed in this role

Remuneration:

$25.68/hour (negotiable for candidates with significant experience) + 4% vacation pay in lieu of vacation/benefits
