Job Description:
Aartplace is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Public Art Project Manager to coordinate multiple public art projects. You’ll play a hands-on role in managing art selection processes, including the creation of concurrent art calls, artists research and outreach, coordinating communications, scheduling, engagement activities, procurement, and artist contracting processes.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on coordination, attention to detail, and meaningful collaboration. Part project manager, part public art curator, this role requires both an understanding of art processes and the organizational skill to deliver complex, multi-commission projects. You’ll work closely with the Aartplace team, artists, project managers, and other partners to manage timelines and deliverables on initiatives that shape public spaces and enhance well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare procurement and call-for-art materials; coordinate submissions.
- Coordinate project schedules, communications, and logistics across
project phases.
- Support engagement activities with partners, user groups, and community advisors.
- Coordinate artist selection processes, including outreach, materials, and documentation.
- Conduct research into project contexts and relevant artists/artworks.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications:
- Minimum two years experience coordinating/leading public art, curatorial, or cultural projects.
- Education in Fine Arts, Art History, Curatorial Studies, Museum Studies, Architecture, Design, Public Art, or related fields.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
