Creative Edge School of Arts, Abbotsford’s largest fine-arts studio, is hiring part-time music instructors to teach private music lessons to students of all ages.

Job Description:
We are looking for music teachers with experience working with kids and youth to teach weekly private music lessons in Piano, Vocals, Guitar, Drums. Instructors will specialize in one or more of these instruments. A variety of shifts are available weekday afternoon/evenings (between 3:00-8:00) with the option of Saturday mornings. Hours are based on instructor availability and dependant on student registration. We currently have a long waitlist and we expect shifts to fill quickly!
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: - Planning and teaching weekly 30-minute private music lessons out of our studio in Abbotsford - Working with kids and teens of all ages, backgrounds and abilities - Design individualized lesson plans based on the goals, interests and needs of the students; incorporating a variety of styles and techniques - Preparing students for annual recitals (in-studio) - Contribute to a positive and supportive school environment - Communicate with parents and administration as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in your instrument(s) and a working knowledge of music theory
- Previous experience working with kids in some capacity (previous teaching experience is considered a strong asset)
- A passion for music and ability to inspire others
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success
- A patient, friendly, encouraging and adaptive teaching approach
- Willingness to undergo criminal record check What we offer:
