City of Port Coquitlam Seeks Proposals for Pride Public Art Project

The following is excerpted from a call issued by the City of Port Coquitlam.

The City of Port Coquitlam seeks proposals for an artist-led, community-engaged public art project that recognizes and celebrates Port Coquitlam’s LGBTQ2+ community, and its presence and contribution to the social fabric of the city.

The City has a vision to be a happy, vibrant, safe community with healthy and engaged residents, and is guided by values and principles of accessibility, diversity and inclusion for all members of the community. The Pride Public Art project presents artists with an opportunity to develop an artwork that builds on these values, deepening relationships, creating a visual marker of presence of the LGBTQ2+ community, while providing a space for reflection, opportunities for dialogue and fostering inclusivity and community pride. The artist or artist team will lead the development and creation of the artwork and will engage members of the community in the artmaking process.
