Simon Brault Appointed as Director of Canada Council for the Arts

Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover today announced the appointment of Simon Brault as director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts for a term of five years effective June 26, 2014.

Brault was first appointed to the Canada Council as vice-chair in 2004 and was reappointed in 2009 for a second five-year term, which ended March 31, 2014.

Province Announces $804,000 in Funding For Arts Spaces

The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development announced today 41 recipients of infrastructure grants through the BC Creative Spaces program.  The program, which provides $804,000 in funding, will help arts and cultural organizations in communities across the province develop new spaces, improve existing facilities, and purchase or upgrade specialized equipment.
