BC CREATIVE CONVERGENCE
In 2013 the Alliance launched a province-wide engagement process, BC Creative Convergence, with the goal of developing a cultural policy framework for BC. Community Cultural Roundtables are being held throughout the province to bring as many voices as possible into the conversation. Join us!
We advocate for the arts, culture and heritage sector by monitoring public policy, synthesizing issues for members and representing the interests of artists and cultural workers.
The latest issue of Hill Strategies' Arts Research Monitor includes summaries of a major Canadian report on active participation in dance, American reports on arts participation and local arts vibrancy, and a report from the United Kingdom on arts participation.
The Professional Association of Canadian Theatres presented the ninth annual Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award to Ivan Habel, and protégés Nadine Carew and Natalie Ackers.
Our programming line-up includes What We Have Learned report-backs from a number of organizations and initiatives, a presentation of the outcomes of our BC Creative Convergence initiative, and three sessions with cultural visionary Richard Evans. Early bird registration deadline extended to May 29!
There are still a few seats available at two of the remaining Community Cultural Roundtables, in Vancouver on May 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. and in Victoria, also on May 26, from 7 to 10 p.m.
