Call for Participants – Arc One
/ORGANIZATION: Glitch Theatre
DEADLINE: Nov. 15, 2025
WEBSITE: http://realwheels.ca/call-for-participants-arc-one/
CALL FOR ARTISTS:
You don’t have any theatre experience, but you’re curious about what it might feel like to write and perform your own work. Maybe you have some experience in theatre, but you’ve never really written anything before and you want to know how to start? Or are you someone with lots of ideas, who just needs the right space to work on one in particular?
If any of these describe you – and you identify with D/disability – consider this your invitation to apply for Glitch Theatre’s Arc Program.
In a series of eight weekend workshops led by award-winning writer/performer (and Glitch Theatre Co-Artistic Director) Adam Grant Warren, selected applicants will learn the fundamentals of writing: whether for theatre, spoken-word, or short stories and essays. Beyond writing, these workshops will explore techniques for delivering work to an audience—pacing, rhythm, cadence, tone, and intention. Arc One participants will gain the skills to lift their writing off the page and turn text into performance.
Arc One will culminate in a professionally staged evening at the Roundhouse Community Centre, where participants will perform their work for a live audience. Following the performance, the work will be recorded live for episodic release on podcast platforms and revisited as part of an installation project for Arcs Two and Three over Glitch’s upcoming seasons.
Workshops will be hybrid: online and in person at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver). Sessions run Saturdays from Jan. 10 to Apr. 25, 2026, with rehearsals May 17–22 and a live performance on May 23.
