Call for Artists Description:
North Van Arts is currently accepting submissions for artwork to be included in a member exhibition, Figures and Faces, which will take place at CityScape Gallery from July 25, 2025 - September, 6, 2025.
From Egyptian funerary portraits to contemporary photography, art has reimagined human form since time immemorial. Figures and Faces is a survey which will explore the dynamic and varied practices of local artists depicting and representing the body.
For this exhibition, CityScape gallery will be showcasing a mix of 2D and 3D figurative artwork exploring human form, portraiture and gesture.
How to Apply:
Examples of eligible themes
• Life drawings
• Figure drawings
• The naked form (nonsexual)
• Portraiture
Examples of ineligible themes
• Overtly sexual depictions or acts
• Abstraction
• AI generated art
Submission Eligibility Guidelines
• Both emerging and professional artists are welcome to submit artwork for Figures and Faces
• Non-members are encouraged to apply but will be required to purchase a membership if accepted
• Artwork submitted must be available for sale.
• Artists may submit artwork no smaller than 16” x 20” and no larger than 60” x 96”.
• Artwork submitted may be any medium
• Canvas submissions must have hanging wire attached, 2D works must be framed and ready for hanging
• Artwork must be labeled with artist name and artwork title on the back
• AI images will not be accepted.
• Each artist may submit a maximum of two artworks for consideration.
• Please submit both artworks on one application.
• Artists must be located in Metro Vancouver to be considered for this exhibition.
• Priority will be given to artists from the North Shore in the selection process.
