CALL FOR ARTISTS DESCRIPTION:
Vancouver Pro Musica is pleased to invite all BC composers to submit new works for our Fall 2025 concert with the Artemis Ensemble (trio – oboe, oboe/English horn, bassoon/contrabassoon). Selected works for this concert will be presented in November of 2025 (Date TBD) at Notional Space.
Candidates must:
Be British Columbia residents.
Attend all events in the itinerary (please see the VPM website link for details)
Provide all required performance materials (score, parts) in good time for rehearsals prior to the final concert.
Submitted works must:
Have been composed within the past 3 years.
Have not been previously performed at a Vancouver Pro Musica concert.
Have a duration of no more than 9 minutes in length (pieces 5–8 minutes preferred).
Be scored for the full ensemble of 3 instruments: oboe, oboe/English horn, bassoon/contrabassoon. Pieces for solo or duos of this ensemble may be considered, but preference will be given to scores written for the full ensemble.
Include 2 copies of the score: one copy anonymous for the jury adjudication of submissions. (Please read How to Prepare an Anonymized Score PDF on the VPM website)
Both notation and graphic scores will be accepted.
Please note that pieces that include electronics will not be considered.
