Call for Artists / Citywide Banners 2027
/ORGANIZATION: City of Surrey
DEADLINE: January 11, 2027
WEBSITE: https://www.surrey.ca/arts-culture/public-art/artist-calls-project-updates
CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Every year the Public Art Program commissions artwork to be displayed on approximately 100 street poles near significant cultural destinations in Surrey. These artist-designed banners beautify and brighten streetscapes and contribute to placemaking.
The citywide banner series for 2027 seeks designs from artists that offer unique perspectives of place. The 2027 citywide banner guiding principles are to invite colour, vibrancy, and cultivate connection to community.
In addition to the citywide banners, banners will also be installed along City Parkway, a busy corridor in Surrey's City Centre. These banners may feature the same design as the citywide banners, with minor adjustments to suit their smaller size.
