Expressions of Interest - Public Art for Bus Shelter in Surrey

CALL FOR ARTISTS:
TransLink invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from professional artists for a newly commissioned artwork for a bus shelter located in the City of Surrey. The artist will be creating a large-scale, two-dimensional artwork that will be applied to the glazing of the shelter using a ceramic frit process. The artwork can be created digitally or in a range of mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, photography, or other approaches, provided the work can be digitized at high resolution. This is a design-only contract; the artist will be responsible for the creation of the artwork and will not be required to manage fabrication or installation.

Submit a singular PDF package (maximum file size: 10 MB) that includes the following:
• Contact Details: Name, address, email, and phone number.
• Letter of Intent: Outline your interest and intention for this project and site (one page max).
• Artist Statement: A brief introduction to your artistic practice, including key themes, approaches, and areas of focus (300 words max).
• CV: History of past commissions, exhibitions, education, and/or relevant experience.
• Portfolio: Submit up to 10 images of past work. Include the title, date, materials, and a concise description for each image. Additional links may be provided to support your submission.

FEES/COMPENSATION:
The artist fee for this design-only project is $5,000. There is no submission fee.
