CALL FOR ARTISTS:
HOST Consulting is proud to be working alongside Aartplace, BC Children's Hospital, and the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) on the Children’s Healing Experience Project (CHEP), an art enhancement initiative for the new BC Children’s Hospital centre for health complexity in Vancouver. The centre will serve the most medically complex children in BC and the Yukon, and will open in early 2028. For more information about the centre and patient population, visit this link: https://www.bcchildrens.ca/about-us/current-projects/centre-health-complexity.
HOST is leading the Indigenous art opportunities for the site, supporting opportunities for both Host Nation and urban Indigenous artists throughout the development.
We are partnering with Aartplace, which is responsible for the overall art program planning, vision, engagement framework, and the remainder of art outside of an Indigenous-specific scope. Aartplace is a Vancouver-based public art consulting firm specializing in the planning, management, and implementation of public art programs across civic, healthcare, and private sector projects.
As part of this work, HOST will be leading the Indigenous art process for the site, supporting both Host Nation and urban Indigenous artist opportunities throughout the project. Together, HOST and Aartplace are committed to creating culturally grounded art processes that support meaningful representation, community connection, and long-term impact within healthcare spaces.
