CALL FOR ARTISTS:
BC Children's Hospital Foundation, working with Aartplace Art Consulting & Curation and HOST Consulting, invites artists and artist teams living and/or working in British Columbia or the Yukon to apply for the Children's Healing Experience Project (CHEP) Artist Roster.

The roster will support 11 integrated art opportunities representing up to 50 potential commissions at the new BC Children's Hospital centre for health complexity in Vancouver. Opportunities may include digitally produced murals, painted or installed murals, glass and window-film artworks, participatory or community-based murals, and framed or wall-based artworks.

Budgets vary by opportunity, with maximum amounts ranging from $4,000 to $63,000 CAD, excluding taxes.

Artists working in any medium and at any career stage are welcome to apply. Applications are encouraged from artists with disabilities or chronic illness, artists from local First Nations, urban Indigenous artists, and members of equity-denied or underrepresented communities.

A selection panel will establish a roster of prequalified artists. Artists on the roster may be considered for one or more commissioning opportunities based on the alignment of their practice, experience, and interests with the project. Inclusion on the roster does not guarantee a commission.

HOW TO APPLY:
Submit the following materials as one PDF: a Letter of Interest of up to 500 words, an artist CV or résumé of one to four pages, up to 10 work samples, your preferred opportunity types, and contact information for three references. Do not submit sketches, concepts, proposals, or designs at this stage.

Email one PDF to proposals@aart.place by August 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. PT. The maximum file size is 20 MB, and each page must include the artist's name and a page number.
