Long Term Space Lease Opportunity: Artist/Production Studio

The City of Vancouver's Cultural Services has an immediate opportunity for a long term space lease of approximately 2,254 usable square feet at 2050 Scotia Street within “The Artiste” artist live/work development in Mount Pleasant.

Requests For Proposals (RFP) are invited from qualified Vancouver-based arts and/or cultural non-profits to lease the full space from which to operate an artist/production studio and/or their associated administrative activities. The successful applicant may sub-lease or licence a portion of the space to smaller eligible and compatible organizations subject to approval by the City.

Target tenancy is December 1, 2014 or January 1, 2015.

The permitted use of the space is “Artist Studio,” with a non-profit arts/cultural organization involved in the production of art. The space may be used for the production of art and/or cultural festivals and the administrative support of these cultural activities. The space may not be used for performance or public presentation/event purposes except under Arts Event Licence restrictions.

The space will have nominal rent, however organizations will be required to pay monthly strata fees in addition to all facility utility and insurance costs as well as organizational programming and administration costs. Strata fees are currently estimated at $642.60/month.

A site visit and information session with staff is mandatory prior to the submission of your proposal.
