SpaceFinder BC Launches in Metro Vancouver

A reminder to RSVP now to attend the September 15 launch event introducing a valuable new FREE tool to match artists and arts organizations with under-utilized performance, rehearsal, and event spaces.

Made possible by a collaboration between Fractured Atlas, ArtsBuild Ontario, and the Alliance's partner organization, The Society to Bridge Arts and Community (The Bridge Society), SpaceFinder BC will be managed through the Alliance for Arts + Culture.

Finding details about multiple venues can be a frustrating and time-consuming task. Conversely, many venues have unbooked rental spaces that could be a source of additional revenue. Initially launching in the Metro Vancouver area, SpaceFinder BC is a state-of-the-art online tool that provides solutions for both artists and venues.

SpaceFinder BC is a free-to-list, free-to-search online database that enables artists and arts organizations to search for creative spaces that meet their needs in terms of location, amenities, availability, pricing, and more. Venues can create listings with photos, rental rates and equipment, and upload a digital calendar to the site so that bookings can be made directly through the SpaceFinder platform. Unlike other booking sites, there are no fees involved.

Find a Space. List a Space. For Free.

"Searching for rehearsal venues for the times I need, at rates I can afford, takes up a significant part of my time during the creative process. SpaceFinder streamlines so much searching and lead me to new places I didn't know existed," says Kristina Lemieux, independent producer.

“As someone who works on stage, as well as behind the scenes, I can see how SpaceFinder BC can work equally well for artists, organizers and venues," says professional artist Deanna Peters. "We don't need just another space for our performing arts projects. We need venues that support what we do and how we do it. Often, as artists, this means developing relationships with multiple organizations. SpaceFinder BC can easily connect us with many of these.”

Nearly 100 available spaces are listed so far on SpaceFinder BC - have you listed yours? Click here to learn more about creating a listing. To search available spaces, click here.
