This open call to artists requests approaches to artwork of any scale for public spaces in Vancouver.

The City of Vancouver invites artists to expand their art practice and propose new artworks, envisioned for sites in Vancouver, that contemplate the city, its defining features, spaces and neighbourhoods.

This is an opportunity for artists to create public art outside of constraints of site, theme or medium, allowing for explorations of all parts of the city. Artists are invited to extend their practices into the public realm, expanding ideas of what public art is or does.

Emerging or established artists may propose works in a range of media including, but not limited to:

  • built form,
  • two-dimensional work,
  • socially engaged practices,
  • short-term and permanent sculptural installations.

All commissions are for new work; existing work will not be considered.

For detailed information regarding this opportunity, please read the Artist Call.
