On July 16, Kelowna City Council approved the launch of a new Cultural Plan process, which will take place over the next year and influence the City's upcoming 2020-2025 Cultural Plan. Now, the City is encouraging residents to take part via an online survey, which closes August 31. Individuals who fill out the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a gift basket of local products.

"We recognize that culture is important to the wellbeing of the community, the quality of life for all residents and the economic vibrancy of the city. It helps to create a place where people want to live with celebrations, activities and spaces," the webpage for the Plan notes in its preamble. "Over the next year, we'll be working to update the Cultural Plan, and we want you to be involved!"

This is the first update to the Cultural Plan since 2012, and hopes to remedy issues around cultural infrastructure, such as capacity use, aging and affordability of existing spaces. To learn more, and to make your voice heard, click here.
