Tri-City arts, music leaders can win upwards of $15,000 through The Lieutenant Governor’s Arts and Music Awards

A total of 20 individual prizes, worth up to $5,000 each, plus up to five organizational awards valued at up to $15,000 each are available for those who meet the eligible criteria.

Nominations are being accepted until May 13 for the inaugural Lieutenant Governor’s Arts and Music Awards.

The accolades aim to recognize B.C. residents, groups and organizations that have shown 

  • outstanding leadership

  • creativity

  • community engagement

  • passion

  • commitment

in the fields of visual arts, music or performance.

Individual artists or organizations can be nominated using the form below, with consideration to the following criteria:

Organizations:

Mission and Mandate: Reflects the role the organization plays to promote excellence in its community.
Engagement: The organization engages with a diverse audience through teaching, entertainment, exhibitions, performance, or other related activities.
Inclusiveness: The organization inspires accessibility and inclusiveness through inclusive participation and/or opportunities that inspire wellness in a community.
Commitment: The organization demonstrates exceptional commitment to visual arts, performance or music.

Individuals:

Engagement: The artist engages with a diverse audience through teaching, mentoring, entertainment, exhibitions, performance, or other related activities.
Inclusiveness: The artist promotes accessibility and inclusiveness through inclusive participation and/or opportunities that inspire wellness in a community.
Commitment: The artist demonstrates exceptional commitment to their craft, and inspires others in visual arts, performance or music.

Only one nomination is required per individual or organization. Quantity of nominations received is not criteria for these awards.
