The Alliance for Arts and Culture is a proud partner in Arts Coalition BC, a network of British Columbia's arts service organizations. Together, we strive to raise the profile of arts and culture and address common issues with a unified voice. The coalition's new website summarizes our positions on key provincial topics such as the BC Arts Council, Community Gaming Grants, and the newly formed Creative BC.
On the website, you will also find a toolkit for the upcoming May 14 provincial election, with information on how to make a difference in the campaign, and a page about ArtsVoteBC. "Arts Vote" is a non-partisan, grassroots social media movement everywhere elections are happening. Initially activated in some Canadian municipal elections, its purpose is to keep arts and culture on the agenda of election campaigns and increase voter turnout among arts supporters.
Our provincial version, ArtsVoteBC, is hosted by the coalition but driven by the community through Twitter. Please join the conversation: follow @ArtsVoteBC and use the #artsvotebc hashtag when sharing pertinent news, information, and resources. With your participation, website tools and social media activity will be expanding regularly through the course of the campaign.
