Consultation on BC Arts Council's Strategic Plan

In 2009, the BC Arts Council released its 2009-2013 Strategic Plan. For the past four years, this Strategic Plan has provided the BC Arts Council’s overarching goals and strategic priorities. A new Strategic Plan is in the process of being prepared that will guide the BC Arts Council from 2013 to 2017. 

The arts and cultural communities are facing challenging times and the BC Arts Council wants to ensure that it is well positioned to serve the needs of the arts and cultural community. Therefore, engaging with its stakeholders is crucial in the development of the new Strategic Plan. The process began with consultation meetings with Advisory Committees, and input is now being sought from all of our stakeholders. A short online survey has been developed that requests your feedback on a variety of topics including:

• Fulfilment of BCAC mandate
• Factors that will affect the arts and culture community in the next 3 years
• Council’s support for individual artists and arts and cultural organizations

The 18 question survey can be found at: Strategic Plan Survey. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and will be available online until December 17. 

The information gathered through this survey will be critical to development of the 2013-2017 Strategic Plan and will help to establish the priorities of the BC Arts Council over the next four years.
