Cultural Amenity Space Available at CBC Building: Updates to Key Date Info

The City of Vancouver is inviting ‘expressions of interest’ to tenant the CBC cultural amenity space at 750 Hamilton. Approximately 8,500sf of finished space will be available for long-term lease in mid-2014. Eligible organizations must be Vancouver-based cultural not-for-profits with a focus on performing, media arts or festival arts.

The premises are in “shell” condition with no services, however funds are available to improve and finish the premises in conjunction with the applicant. The targeted time frame for selection of the successful applicant is Fall 2013, with design and renovation of the premises through the winter of 2013/14 and tenancy commencing in spring/summer 2014.

The space is suitable for office, board/meeting/education rooms, reference/research, small scale rehearsal and small scale public assembly (40 people). Other  uses could include box office or resource/library room. The space is not suitable for large scale presentation, major rehearsal or production activities, or large scale storage.

Those who intend to submit an Expression of Interest are asked to register to attend a mandatory site visit and information meeting at #110 – 750 Hamilton Street. (Note that a previous site visit and information meeting took place on August 21. If you attended the previous session there is no need to attend the second meeting). There will be an opportunity for applicants to ask questions of City and Community Services staff. All questions and answers will be recorded and posted as an addendum to the RFEOI at the above link.
