Winners of UBCP/ACTRA Awards Announced

The Union of BC Performers, a local branch of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema Television and Radio Artists, honoured five actors at the inaugural UBCP/ACTRA Awards at the CBC Studios in Vancouver on November 24, 2012. 

UBCP/ACTRA award winners were as follows:

Best Actress: Camille Sullivan, Sisters & Brothers;
Best Actor: Stephen Lobo, Afghan Luke;
Best Newcomer: Kacey Rohl, Sisters & Brothers;
Best Voice: Andrea Libman, My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic;
Best Stunt: Phil Mitchell, True Justice – Urban Warfare;

In addition to the five performance awards, the annual Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award was bestowed upon UBCP Member Carol Whiteman and the John Juliani Award of Excellence was presented to UBCP Member Melissa Stubbs.

The awards gala was hosted by Ellie Harvie and produced by executive director of Vancouver TheatreSports, Jay Ono. Over 370 industry professionals were in attendance, including UBCP members, press and politicians.
