    Stan Douglas Wins Scotiabank Photography Award

    Vancouver artist Stan Douglas has won the third annual Scotiabank Photography Award. The award is Canada’s largest annual peer reviewed celebration of excellence in Canadian contemporary photography.  

    The $50,000 prize, announced Thursday evening at Toronto's Ryerson Image Centre, also comes with a primary Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival exhibition in 2014 and book of his work to be published by international art publisher Steidel.

    Winners Announced for Richmond’s Fifth Annual Arts Awards

    The six winners of the annual Richmond Arts Awards were announced at a ceremony last night (May 8) at Richmond City Hall Council Chambers.

    Established to recognize the achievements and contributions to the arts by Richmond residents, artists, educators, organizers and business leaders, the Richmond Arts Awards are presented by Canadian Western Bank. They are administered by the City of Richmond, in partnership with the Richmond Arts Coalition, and are sponsored by Tempest Development Group, the Richmond News and Peller Estates Wines.

    149 Arts, a newly formed non-profit society of SFU's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, has announced the premiere of Festival Launch!
