Work Environment:

  • The EAS offers a collaborative and dynamic work experience. We are a small team of 5 staff who accomplish a lot. Students can expect to be a real part of the team producing the sixth annual Eastside Arts Festival this summer and learn, hands-on, from an experienced management team.

  • Most work takes place in the office in Strathcona, but there are duties that may take students out of the office leading up to the festival, as well as on-site in MacLean Park over the festival weekend, July 25-26.

Job Description:

Compensation: $21.40/hour
Role Dates: June 29 – August 24, 2026

Position Description:
We’re looking for a Fundraising Organizer to play an integral role in donor stewardship, sponsorship outreach, and fundraising coordination for the Eastside Arts Society. This position also contributes to event coordination and marketing tasks associated with the Eastside Arts Festival and supports the work of the Development Committee.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Development:
- Fundraising development for the Eastside Arts Society’s Art Raffle and Silent Auction fundraising campaigns, and its upcoming projects, the Eastside Arts Festival and celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Eastside Culture Crawl
- Research and identify prospective donors, supporting outreach and engagement with donors.
- Track fundraising activity using organizational spreadsheets and project management software
- Assist with securing donations for fundraising events such as the Silent Auction in conjunction with the Executive Director and Program Coordinator.
- Support with collecting, storing, and donated goods and artwork
- Assist in creating Canada’s only contemporary art raffle Event Production Support:
- Support the development and production of Eastside Arts Society events, including fundraising events such as the Art Raffle and Silent Auction Fundraisers and the 30th Edition of the Eastside Culture Crawl
- Assist with production logistics, volunteer support, and tracking event deliverables.
- Co-ordinating with staff and leading volunteers to deliver festival and event programming
- Assist with setting up and maintaining festival and fundraising event ticketing

Marketing & Communications:
- Assist in collecting and preparing content for donor communications, newsletters, and sponsorship materials.
- Support social media and website updates, particularly around fundraising campaigns, sponsor announcements, and donor recognition.
- Assist with managing Eastside Arts festival signage and promotional material inventory.

Administrative Support:
- Assist with internal meeting coordination and documentation.
- Assist with coordinating intra-organizational events such as the Board/staff summer BBQ
- Assist in maintaining a good working office environment

Qualifications:

Skills Needed:
- Experience with donor relations, sales, customer service, or partnerships
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in tracking information
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ease with multitasking, problem-solving, and flexibility
- Good computer skills and experience with general office software, such as Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace
- Ability to effectively liaise with a variety of stakeholders and deliver excellent customer service
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently on assigned tasks
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize competing needs and deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work extended periods on your feet during events

Assets:
- Experience working in the arts or nonprofit sector
- Keen interest or knowledge of visual arts
- Proficient with Eventbrite or comparable ticketing platforms
- Acquainted with Click-Up or similar project management tools
- Comfortable with Mailchimp or other email marketing tools
- Class 5 Driver’s License, Serving It Right, First Aid certification
