Job Description:

The Reach Gallery Museum is seeking a compassionate, creative, and experienced Therapeutic Arts Instructor to deliver offsite arts-based programming for partner agencies supporting unpaid caregivers aged 55+.

This role is ideal for an artist-facilitator who can create meaningful, inclusive, and empowering creative experiences that support emotional expression, social connection, and personal agency.

Program Overview
Your Creative Reach offers therapeutic arts sessions designed to support older adult caregivers through creative exploration. the program supports a six-session series at offsite locations. Sessions will follow a multi-week curriculum centered around a unifying project or theme (e.g., a collaborative book, community artwork, or performance).

The program emphasizes:
• Creative exploration and self-expression
• Collective healing and social connection
• Participant agency, choice, and self-direction
• A balance of gentle structure and flexibility

Responsibilities:

• Work with Therapeutic Arts Coordinator to design and facilitate engaging, therapeutic arts sessions for older adult caregivers
• Develop a cohesive multi-session curriculum built around a central project or theme
• Introduce accessible materials or techniques, with an emphasis on processes that challenge expectations beyond traditional drawing/painting
• Build strong relationships with partner organizations and participants

Qualifications:

• Experience in arts facilitation, art therapy, or therapeutic arts practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in community settings
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and support a flexible program environment
• Must have reliable transportation

Assets
• Experience working with older adults and/or caregivers is an asset
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and participant-centered approaches
• Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive programming
