Organization Description:
Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is a non-profit society that produces various art-related events and education. Our organization's mandate is to recognize and strengthen the role of artists in our communities, increase public participation and engagement in arts and culture, and provide global exposure and opportunities. We are passionate in our mission to activate local communities, striving to be accessible and inviting for culturally diverse audiences, while strengthening community connections and celebrating Vancouver’s diversity.
Our mandate is to foster increased education and appreciation of the artists in the community, while raising the profile of Vancouver in the international arts scene. VVAF hosts two main events annually, Art Vancouver (a 4-day art fair at Vancouver Convention Center West) and Art Downtown (an outdoor art show held weekly throughout the summer), which gives a platform to the Vancouver arts community by providing an opportunity for artists to connect with their community. VVAF also visits underserved schools to teach art, partnering with local charities.
