House Teams Program

ORGANIZATION: The Improv Centre
DEADLINE: December 14, 2025
WEBSITE: https://theimprovcentre.ca/house-teams/

CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Hello and welcome! We're so grateful for your interest in auditioning for the 2026 Winter/Spring House Team season at The Improv Centre. The Improv Centre House Teams program is a 6-month mentorship program consisting of both training and performance. The goal of the program is to build upon the improvisational skills of developing players in the community, and to create an accessible, professional, concentrated training program that focuses on the story-based short and mid-form style of our company.

Some important disclaimers to help determine if House Teams are the right fit for you:
– House Teams is not a beginner program: Our House Team program is intended for developing performers with improv class and/or performance experience. If you're just beginning your improv journey, we recommend taking a look at some of the other classes and workshops on our website!
– Outcomes: House Teams are a great way to grow as a performer, offering regular stage time, coaching, and a fun, supportive community. But House Teams are part of our developmental programming and not a guaranteed pathway to our professional MainStage cast.
– Not everyone who applies will be offered an audition; due to volume, we may not be able to see everyone this round. We will notify everyone of their application status regardless of the outcome.

TIC welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, colour, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.

HOW TO APPLY:
Please fill out the form on our website before the December 14 deadline: https://theimprovcentre.ca/house-teams/
You will hear back from us by the end of December regardless of whether we are able to offer you an audition.

FEES/COMPENSATION:
A fee of $50 per month of the 6-month program per performer is required to pay for coaching/facility. The fee will be collected before first rehearsals.
