CALL FOR ARTISTS:
North Vancouver Recreation and Culture’s (NVRC) Artist Residency Program provides opportunities for emerging and established artists from diverse disciplines, cultures, and life experiences to create new work or develop existing projects. The program offers staff and marketing support, financial support, and space within a community recreation centre, field house, or Centennial Theatre. Residency lengths range from six weeks to six months with varying schedules. Artists accepted into the program are expected to provide community engagement through a short performance, workshop, or artist talk.

Artists must be legally eligible to work in Canada, be from Metro Vancouver or live/work in North Vancouver, provide a clear police information check, and hold liability insurance. NVRC acknowledges that North Vancouver is located on the traditional, unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. The program respects the Nations’ oral histories, arts and culture practices, and ongoing cultural, environmental, and economic contributions. NVRC is committed to building better relationships and futures with local First Nations and all Indigenous Peoples. Applicants who require information in another format or need alternative ways to apply may email artistresidencies@nvrc.ca for assistance.
