Call for Artists Description:

The Michael Wright Art Gallery (MWAG), Outlet Gallery, Port Coquitlam Community Centre, and City Hall Gallery present a rotating program of exhibitions that highlight the creativity and diversity of local and regional artists. These exhibitions aim to foster greater understanding, appreciation, and engagement with visual arts by integrating art into everyday community life and enriching the cultural fabric of Port Coquitlam.

We welcome exhibition proposals from artists of all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels. Submissions are invited in all media and on all themes, including solo exhibitions or group shows featuring two or more artists.

How to Apply:

To apply, please complete the online application form available on our website. As part of your application, you will be asked to upload the following:

1. Statement of Intent (max. 300 words): Describe your proposed exhibition. Include your vision for the show, a description of the artwork, and the approximate number of pieces. This statement should highlight the overall concept and how the works connect thematically or formally.

2. Artist Statement (max. 300 words): Share your current artistic concerns and creative process. You may also include a short biography that outlines your background as an artist.

3. Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Résumé: Include your exhibition history and any relevant artistic experience.

4. 6–15 Images of Your Work: Submit high-quality images in JPG, PNG, or TIFF format so the jury can accurately assess your work.

We strive to implement an inclusive and accessible program that enables all individuals to engage fully in our programs. If completion of the written application poses barriers, we will accept oral applications. Fees/Compensation:

There are no fees required to submit an exhibition proposal.

If your exhibition is selected, you will be compensated with an artist fee. We will also provide marketing, professional installation support, and an opening reception.
