Call for Artists Description:

We invite local BC artists to submit work for Portraits of Our Companions, a group exhibition at the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery, celebrating our beloved pets. Through the art of portraiture, artists are encouraged to represent any type of pet – mammals, birds, reptiles, aquatic animals, or invertebrates. We are seeking both artwork for the gallery and handmade pet-related items for our gallery shop. The exhibition runs from July 11 to August 23, 2026.

Fees/Compensation:

The Pitt Meadows Art Gallery follows a standard commission structure for pieces sold during exhibitions, with 70% of the sale going to the artist and 30% to the gallery. In addition to offering a beautiful exhibition space, the gallery provides a variety of services, including staff to curate and display the artwork, volunteers to manage daily operations, a point-of-sale system, coverage of credit card fees, packing materials, labels, and promotional materials (both print and digital). The gallery also handles marketing and social media, hosts an opening reception, and offers a virtual component for each exhibition.
