CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Kent Harrison Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization supporting arts and culture in the region for over 40 years. The Arts Council operates the Ranger Station Art Gallery in Harrison Hot Springs, BC and is supported by the BC Arts Council. We are seeking a visual artist or writer for a one-year residency. The gallery and residence are located on the shore of Harrison Lake, approximately 100 km east of Vancouver.
The residency includes a semi-furnished 2-bedroom suite with adjoining studio space above the Ranger Station Art Gallery. In exchange, the Artist in Residence contributes approximately 10 hours per week to gallery operations. Most duties take place on Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Mondays from 12:00–4:00pm. The resident also presents a month-long exhibition and organizes public programs and/or workshops.

HOW TO APPLY:
Submit a letter of interest outlining your plan for the residency, a bio, and a current CV.
Visual artists: up to 15 JPEG images (72 dpi, max 1MB each), labeled with number, initials, and title, plus an image list including title, date, medium, and size.
Writers: writing samples, publications, and proposed community workshop ideas.

Only emailed applications are accepted. A police background check will be required for the successful candidate.
FEES/COMPENSATION:
CARFAC fees are paid for workshops led by the resident artist. There are no fees to apply or exhibit.
