CALL FOR ARTISTS:
The City of Surrey is inviting expressions of interest to design and paint a mural at the Newton Recreation Centre, located at 137 St and 72 Ave. Situated next to Newton Exchange in a major civic and economic hub, the site includes nearby community amenities such as the Newton Arena, Seniors Centre, and Library. The mural will wrap around the building’s north and west stucco façade and is intended to become a prominent visual landmark. The artwork should reflect themes of activity, movement, and recreation within the community. This opportunity is open to artists and artist teams with relevant mural or public art experience.

Your submission must include:
• Contact details (name, address, email, phone)
• Letter of intent (max 300 words)
• CV (for each team member, if applicable)
• Artist statement (max 300 words)
• Portfolio (up to 10 images with title, date, description, and materials)
• All materials combined into a single PDF (max 10MB)
FEES/COMPENSATION:
The total project budget is $27,500. Shortlisted artists or teams will receive a $700 honorarium to develop a concept proposal.
